Joshua Howard is an Abstract painter and constructionist living and working in Sydney. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in painting at National Art School. He starts his process from a personal matter of family his surroundings such as the use of domestic items to create further assemblages, he then constructs his workup in the studio predominately using enamel paints mixed with glue or earth substances, communicating this private translation of quixotic expression within the constructed support withholding the abstracted imagery.
Howard is interested in the way that domestic or personal item can lead to another communication that can be transformed to another whole new form of meaning, nameless when pulled out of its setting to be re-assembled to a new form and his paintings are an exploration of these intentions.
